Ancient business processes driving me to madness

I couldn't take it...
@Home, my former Internet Service Provider and supplier of cable TV are dumb assholes.
You would think that business processes are renewed to go with the innovation in technology, like described by Moore's Law.
But NOOOOOOOO!!!
They have to keep their old bureaucratic ways in order to spite and irritate the masses. They don't know fuck-all about whats going on in their company, nobody is connected to anyone there because no one has a clue what the other department is doing.
I cancel my contract with them in June, a written letter sent to them, and still i get a bill. I call up and ask "WTF?!"
They reply that they haven't received it and are stillw aiting for the money, which mind you is for a period of time WHEN I DON"T EVEN LIVE AT THAT ADDRESS ANYMORE!!!!
These fuckers think that i wouldn't be upset that i'm paying for service that I don't use and actually shouldn't be paying..
I sent another letter in July, and STILL I GET ANOTHER FUCKING BILL!!
Get this;
I moved out of my apartment on the 30th of June, effective 1st of July we were no longer owners of that apartment. I get a bill that says i should pay for the Cable TV services for the period 01-07-2006 through 30-09-2006.
At that point I really wanted to hurt someone...preferably by means of a baseball bat to the head.

Advice to anyone reading this:
1. Cancel your contracts for Phone, TV, Internet, Water, Electricity, Gas, AS SOON AS YOU APPLY FOR THEM! Tell them right at the beginning how long you want the service for.

2. Buy a very big Baseball Bat

Mental prep for Slovakia

So,
i'm going to move to Bratislava next week. I'm going to live with my grandmother for 5 months and work as an intern at the Dutch Embassy. Hopefully it won't be too boring because I am somewhat excited about it.
Finally i get to do something other than school. I've had enough academics for now and I am glad to finally be doing something for my career.
Its a shame that Bratislava is still a little behind in some thing, for instance ISP's there are not so efficient or cheap or fast. I guess the Netherlands has spoiled me that way. Fun fact: the Netherlands has the highest ratio of broadband connections to inhabitants in the world. Go figure!
But its true, this coutnry has been pushing highspeed internet connections very much and i'm grateful. Go Holland.
Fuck you Slovakia... :)
That place is so fucked up I won't even get into it. The economy, politics, parliament, entrepreneurs... it seems like no one ISN'T crooked there..
I guess business ethics is too "far-fetched" a concept for them still..
Anyways, I leave on the 31st of August.
Time to enjoy my last days here.

Summer Darkness, gothic festival in Utrecht

This post relates to my experiences at Summer Darkness.
I saw many bands/acts, talked to various people, was unsuccesful at picking up ANY chicks..
Dammit, i'm repulsive even to goth-chicks! This is unbelievable..really.
However, the four days of raving and watching bands was a memorable time in Utrecht.
Some of the bands i saw: Bauhaus, VNV Nation, Combichrist, Grendel, Welle:Erdball, Frozen Plasma, Front Line Assembly(CANADIANS!!!), Soman, FabrikC, Clan of Xymox, Moonspell.
I also managed to have a nice chat with the singer of Birthday Massacre, another Canadian band there... Funny enough, she grew up in St.Catherines.. small world.

Other than that, people dressed in latex, bondage clothing, elaborate dresses and the nicest corsets you can imagine. Good stuff...always something pretty to look at there. :)

And these are some crazy Germans I met. She was hot and totally open to suggestion. If it wasn't for the dude throwing a hissy-fit, they probably wouldn't have gone home then I would have had a very enjoyable night...Grazy Germans..

First offical post, WACKEN OPEN AIR 2006!!!!!

Well its the beginning of August, i just came back from a kick-ass festival in Germany. Wacken Open Air.
5 days of camping, partying and heavy metal. It was amazing.

Made some new friends, crazy Germans. Good times and noodle salad. The guy next to me is a Scottish metalhead that lives in Hoofdorp and goes to Wacken every year with us. He is Simon.
